ROSS

The ROSS Program works to promote the development of local strategies to coordinate the use of assistance under the Public Housing program with public and private resources, for supportive services and resident empowerment activities. These services enable participating families to increase earned income, reduce or eliminate the need for welfare assistance, make progress toward achieving economic independence and housing self-sufficiency.

Resident Opportunities and Self Sufficiency (ROSS) Elderly (62 years old and above)/Persons with Disabilities Program

The ACHA R.O.S.S. Elderly/Persons with Disabilities Program works to deliver and coordinate supportive services and other activities designed to help improve the living conditions of public housing residents who are elderly and/or disabled. The ACHA R.O.S.S. Family will educate, assist, advocate and encourage you. We do this by connecting you with the resources, supportive and medical services in the community that will enable you to do everything for as long as physically possible.

The goal of this program is to assist the elderly and persons living with disabilities in maintaining their independence through on-site and community programs and services.  The R.O.S.S (Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency) Program provides referrals for resources on a variety of issues.  All services will be based on community agencies and resource availability.  If your specific need is not listed, then please ask and I will research available resources.  Below are some of the specific issues that the R.O.S.S. Program can assist you with, including but not limited to the following:

  • Applications
